This is a nostalgic place for myself and I’m so happy to see they’re still open and keeping the original name. The food was great, fries and onion rings had the perfect crisp to them. The owner was super friendly and they updated the patio which looks really great! 10/10

UPDATE: July 1, 2025 Yayyy, New owner's and they are open!!! I called in an order at 11a when they opened. The young lady who answered the phone was very helpful and patient with me, I could be a lot sometimes when it comes to ordering food. I arrived at about 11:10 a.m. and waited about 5 minutes, Russ - one of the owners brought out my food. Thank you! It was yummy and I ate it all I ordered the shrimp platter with onion rings and it came with coleslaw. With a tip I paid just under $20 I will be back!! 2022 This was my first visit here since living in Higganum for the past year. 11:30 a.m. on a Thursday in the temperature is in the mid 60s. Extremely kind service and with three people ahead of me, my order was ready within 10 minutes. I ordered the 8-piece jumbo shrimp which came with fries and coleslaw. Tartar sauce, lemon and ketchup. $20. I also ordered a small mint chocolate chip cup, ice cream is made by Gifford's out of Maine. The parking lot was pretty full and I will say pulling in and out can be a challenge, especially when it's busy. I was very happy with everything and I will be back.
Stopped in for lunch, we live in town and we're excited for Higgies to reopen and it was fantastic! The Higgies Burger was DELICIOUS!! Highly recommended with their relish. The onion rings also spectacular!! Owner was really nice, too. Only minor recommendation I can make is maybe a little music outside in the dining area, that and have malt vinegar available. Otherwise excellent and we can't wait to come back! Next time I may order 2 Higgies burgers!! My wife at half of mine it was so good!! Reasonable prices too!
OUTSTANDING. AMAZING. My husband has been going here for 60-some years; me 40-some years. There has been some turnover over the years, but it's always been good even with ownership changes. However, today we stopped because it worked out with our schedule and it was the very best "Higgie's" we've ever had. We're old enough to pretty much be experts. So, believe us. It can be a little tricky to get in and out of the parking lot, but that's always been the case. Be sure to reduce your speed on old Route 9 to be sure you get in and out safely. It's well worth it.
With my last name and driving through Higganum, CT, I just had to stop by and have a bite to eat! The Mexican Crispy Chicken Wrap and Onion Rings were hot off the press and so delicious!
Great Food! Haven’t been to Higgie’s since I was a teen. Stopped for a late lunch on way home from beach. Service a little slow but well worth the wait. Had a shrimp wrap & chowder.
I love Higgies!!! Great food for a great, affordable price! I always bring my friends who are visiting from out of state here and they love it. Lately they’ve been closed during hours it says they’re supposed to be open. Hope everything is okay with them. Would be so sad if they closed for good.
